Terms of Service

1. Service description

upii.eu provides an API for anonymizing personally identifiable information (PII). The service detects and replaces PII in text and documents with anonymous placeholders. All processing is performed on European infrastructure.

2. Registration and account

You must provide a valid email address and a password of at least 12 characters. You are responsible for securing your account and API keys. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

3. Plans and pricing

• Free: 10 requests/minute, 500 characters/request, text only.
• Professional: unlimited requests, 50,000 characters/request, text + documents. Pricing on request.
• Enterprise: self-hosted deployment on your own infrastructure.

Free tier limits may be changed with 30 days' notice.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for illegal activities.
• Attempt to bypass rate limits or authentication.
• Reverse engineer the service.
• Resell API access without authorization.

5. Data and privacy

Data sent to the API is processed in memory and immediately discarded. No text or document is stored, logged, or retained. See our privacy policy for details.

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Planned maintenance will be announced in advance. The Professional plan includes a contractually defined SLA.

7. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that anonymization will be exhaustive in all cases. You remain responsible for verifying that anonymized output meets your regulatory requirements.

Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the preceding 12 months.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these terms, with prior notice except in emergencies.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Brussels, Belgium.

10. Changes

We may modify these terms with 30 days' notice via email. Continued use of the service after modification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
